On June 21, exactly 10 years after the USS Missouri passed Waikiki’s Diamond Head Crater and thousands of welcoming onlookers, the Battleship Missouri Memorial will present “A Mighty Mahalo” day. The celebration will feature complimentary admission for (kama‘aina) local residents and anyone with a government-issued military ID as a way of saying “thank you” to the local and military community for their support and patronage over the last decade. The celebration will include special activities including patriotic performances by military, school bands; special commemorative tours, and more.

Anniversary events will continue throughout the year and culminate on Jan. 29, 2009, the 10th anniversary of the Battleship Missouri Memorial’s grand opening. Keep an eye on our Events Calendar for the latest details.
