Shirt 1: American Made by EMC3 Yoder. Created during the World Cruise, 1986.
Clutched by the flaming eagle is the Micrometer and Gear, the insignia for the Machinery Repairman enlisted rating. .
This particularly large painting is over 3 ft wide and 4 ft in long and dominates the wall of the Battleship Missouri's machine shop one level below the main deck. Painted in the standard ship colors available at the time (no mixing!), the bright head and flames make a strinking backdrop to machinists manning the lathes.
